Maia Heidel

Painter, Set Designer, Costume Designer

Rooted in the wild openness of of her Patagonian birthplace and the creative pulse of Buenos Aires, Maia is an artist who moves between canvas, stage, and cloth with equal curiosity. She is drawn to the moment where material transforms — where the chemical, the physical, and the unpredictable converge into meaning — working with custom made mixed media and found objects, she produces non-figurative works that resist interpretation while demanding presence.

Artist Statement:
Nature taught me to look before I understood what I was seeing. My practice carries that same patience — building surfaces through chemical and physical reactions, allowing form to arrive rather than forcing it. The result is non-figurative, open, and deliberately unresolved. I make work that functions as a mirror: what you find in it is yours.

Maia Heidel has created her own style called Mutante (Mutant) to approach how she paints. Keep in mind that this style tends to shift and transform as light and space interact with it. Rooted in the streets of Buenos Aires and shaped by a formal training in graphic design, CR is a muralist and visual artist whose work lives at the intersection of urban experience and abstract geometry. He moves fluidly between painting, sculpture, and light installation — using color, tension, and spatial disruption to transform the way a surface, or an entire room, is felt. His works are held in private collections across Argentina, the Americas, and Europe.

Artist Statement: My work begins on the streets of Buenos Aires — in the walls, the shadows, the shapes that appear and vanish with the light. Line and color become instruments of tension, building compositions that feel unstable, alive, on the verge of transformation.

I am drawn to what geometry feels like — not what it measures.
